At high tide you don’t get to dig your sandy toes into much of the beautiful fine grain sand at Angourie beach with its pandanus palms and smooth rocks, but the walk down the steep stairs from the car park is worth it. As is the balancing act of rock hoping around the point to flat rocks that offer loads of opportunity to find treasures of the sea in little pockets of deep water left behind by the surging swell.
Ahhh my sandy toes do so love going to the beach! Especially when you start on one beach, do a bit of exploring, and end up somewhere completely different. Like the “blue pool” a fresh water hole right next to the ocean – you can take a calm water swim or daredevil jump from the high cliffs into the deep waters left behind from old quarry mining.
